ALISON BLACKWELL

I love to cook for family & friends (shh, don’t tell anyone, I wear swim goggles when I cut onions!)
Born in Kampala, Uganda and came to Canada in ‘72
I have an allergy to the sun
My dream is to be at St. Peter’s Square, in Rome, and hear the Pope celebrate Holy Mass!
I don’t believe that Elvis has left the building!

Immigrated to Canada from Italy when I was three months old, can’t remember the two week boat ride
Grew up in mid-Toronto in my own “family village”. Within a two block radius there were at least twenty homes owned by relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins)….a lot of eyes watching your every move.
I have only brothers (3), got married and had only sons (7). God has a sense of humor
Spent four years on the U. of T. Boxing Team. I got smart and did not try to make a career of it
My mother had a recipe for snails, which I love to this day

Lived in Hong Kong for 12 years, but can only speak "survival Cantonese"
I went to an International British school that was like Hogwarts, without the spells + potion classes
In spite of the fact that I don't like insects, I consider myself to be a travel “bug”
I've never met sushi I didn't like
Being detail-oriented and organized are my super powers
